NEC Ending [to Quit] their PC Sales by July – 2009.

    March 30th, 2009 / 2 Comments » / by sT*rchi1Ð

NEC is killing their PC Sale by this Year’s endin’ July. Japan’s NEC Corp will halt production and sales of personal computers in the Asia-Pacific region around July, a spokesman said on Saturday, in a move that would see it pull out completely from the loss-making PC business overseas.

NEC, which has the top PC market share in Japan, last month signaled a withdrawal from the PC business in Europe, Africa and the Middle East amid slumping demand and tough competition.

NEC has warned it would post a net loss of 290 billion yen ($2.96 billion) for the business year ending this month, and is accelerating restructuring efforts, which include pulling out from weak businesses and cutting more than 20,000 jobs worldwide.

Competition with rivals such as Hewlett-Packard Co and Dell Inc has been fierce and NEC sold its retail PC business in Europe in 2006.

NEC sells about one-sixth of its annual global sales of 3 million PCs outside Japan.

Action Video Games Could Sharpen Eyesight

    March 30th, 2009 / 14 Comments » / by sT*rchi1Ð

People who have a hard time seeing traffic lights or cars at night, who miss facial gestures, or who need a great deal of light to read typically suffer from poor contrast sensitivity. This condition is thought to be correctable by wearing glasses or contact lenses or by surgery. Now, researchers say they may have found a way to improve contrast sensitivity naturally with the help of an unlikely source—video games.

According to a study published in Nature Neuroscience, playing action video games could help improve a person’s contrast sensitivity. In the study, people who used a video-game training program saw a significant improvement in their ability to notice subtle differences in shades of gray.

In the study, researchers found action video games train the brain to process the existing visual information more efficiently. What’s even better news is that the improvements last for months after the game play has stopped. As a result, it’s possible action video game training could be a useful complement to eye-correction techniques used today.

In the study, 22 students were divided into two groups. One group played action games such as Call of Duty 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004. A second group played The Sims 2, which does not require as much hand-eye coordination. Both groups played 50 hours of their assigned games over the course of nine weeks. At the end of the test, the students who played the action games showed an average of 43% improvement in their ability to discern shades of gray, whereas the players who played The Sims 2 showed no improvement. The study also claimed people who were very practiced action gamers became 58% better at perceiving fine differences in contrast.

How Can Dawkins Explain the Perfect Eye in Our Brains?

    March 28th, 2009 / 3 Comments » / by sT*rchi1Ð

The main reason why Darwin said, “the thought of the eye made me cold all over” is the fact he had no explanation to offer in the face of the eye’s extraordinary complexity. But the fact is that Darwin knew very little about the eye. Genetics had not been discovered in his day, there were no electron microscopes and nobody even dreamed what microbiology was to reveal. Subsequent scientific advances revealed the extraordinary structure of the eye in all its glory. Since even the level of knowledge of the 19th century was sufficient to alarm Darwin, who knows what he would have done had he known what we know today.

Modern-day Darwinists are silent in the face of this extraordinarily complex structure. Under the burden of this defeat, the atheist Richard Dawkins is trying to supposedly offer an explanation for the complexity of the eye. He maintains that an organ such as the eye, which possesses irreducible complexity and can only function when 40 components are all present and fully formed, can actually function if not fully formed, despite this being scientifically impossible.

The fact is that the eye ceases to function entirely even in the absence of ocular fluid alone. It is deprived of all function if there are no eyelashes, no oil producing glands inside the eye or if the optical focusing function ceases. If the eye is to function as an eye it is essential that it have its perfect structure together with all its component parts.

However, the really essential matter, and that which inflicts the greatest defeat on Darwinists when it comes to the eye, is that IT IS NOT IN FACT THE EYE THAT SEES AT ALL. Dawkins and other Darwinists appear quite certain that it is the eye that sees and seek to bring a materialist explanation to bear. But they are mistaken.

It is the photon that strikes the eye, and an electric signal that travels from the eye to the brain. Departing from the eye, the electric signal reaches an area the size of a lentil known as the visual cortex. And an image forms in this lentil-sized area. THERE IS AN EYE that sees the image that forms here. AND THAT “EYE” IS THE ACTUAL PERFECT EYE. That eye sees the electricity reaching it. And it perceives it with a perfect sense of depth, vividly, in motion and in three dimensions, in bright colors and flawlessly. Yet that area is totally dark. The place the signal is transmitted to, the visual cortex and the interior of the brain are all in pitch darkness. But the eye there sees a vivid image,

clearer and more perfect than any produced by even the most advanced technology. And it interprets these images, feels sadness, joy, love and liking, performs analyses, remembers things and draws conclusions. How is Dawkins supposed to account for this eye?

It is impossible for Dawkins to account for it at all.

That is because the eye that perceives this moving, colored and three-dimensional world in our brains is OUR SOUL. The soul is completely metaphysical and cannot be explained in terms of any material concept. That is why materialists, atheists and Darwinists, who seek to account for the existence of the soul and everything in material terms are in a state of panic. The soul bestowed on human beings by Allah (God) totally demolishes Darwinism and all intellectual systems espoused by Darwinists. That is why all atheists, such as Dawkins, avoid all face-to-face discussion of the subject. It is understandable for them to seek a solution by avoiding the issue because they will always be defeated in the face of the perfection of the seeing eye in our brains and the soul created by Allah.

    OnLive PC Gaming Platform.

    March 27th, 2009 / 3 Comments » / by sT*rchi1Ð

We all regard PC games, as an entertainment medium, but spend hundreds to even thousands of Dollars regularly, to keep our PCs up to date, to be able to play the latest PC games. Imagine a medium that rids us of that, and we are able to consume PC gaming like any other content, like the TV or radio. Well, that the potential a new on-demand gaming platform holds – to make you never have to buy/upgrade a gaming PC again.

Called OnLive, the on-demand platform consists of a web service, an internet connection, and a thin-client, called “micro-console” that connects your input (game controllers), and output (monitor/TV/HDTV). You control the game – whichever you’re subscribed to and playing – the client relays your input to the OnLive servers, that do the processing, including graphics rendering, and send back output to your client. The client then displays the output.

For standard definition television quality, a broadband connection of at least 1.5 megabits per second is required. For HDTV resolution, a connection of at least 5 mbps is needed. The service uses patented algorithms that work to counter lag caused by network constraints. The technology is already gaining attention from major publishers, including EA, THQ, Codemasters, Ubisoft, Atari, Warner Bros., Take-Two, and Epic. People can buy or rent a game to play it, the usage fees are expected not to be much more than the subscription fees for Xbox Live.

The problem with running games remotely is always latency, if you are driving and turn your car, if the car doesn’t react for three or four seconds, you will eat wall quickly. The generally-assumed latency that a human can perceive is 85ms. Anything less, you probably won’t notice, so that is the bar Onlive has to hurdle.
