THE ROD OF MOSES

Like the wind of morn imbibe the wish to blow,
For temper free is ever moving to and fro.
A thousand founts shall spring on path that you have trod,
Go deep in Self and cleave the sea with Moses’ Rod.

ETERNAL LIFE

Life acts just like the mother shell,
It takes in lap the drop of vernal rain
Unless it change the drop to pearl
The Shell is worthless quite and vain.
If Self can pick its faults, perfection seek,
And for its perfection mount a guard:
Such man is likely to have lasting life,
Perhaps, death may not claim him as reward.

THE CHILD’S INVOCATION (adopted by Children)

My longing comes to my lips as supplication of mine
O God! May like the candle be the life of mine!
May the world’s darkness disappear through the life of mine!
May every place light up with the sparkling light of mine!
May my homeland through me attain elegance
As the garden through flowers attains elegance
May my life like that of the moth be, O Lord!
May I love the lamp of knowledge, O Lord!
May supportive of the poor my life’s way be
May loving the old, the suffering my way be
O God! Protect me from the evil ways
Show me the path leading to the good ways

Iqbal is def. the poet of the century. A man behind the idea of freedom of thoughts & dynamism in the youth. Through the mind streaking passion in his poetry and those ultimate unquestionable thoughts. We can really find what are we supposed to do & live our Life like Alive muslims & die the way we’ll always be alive.
