Google has updated their Google Maps for Android app to version 5.1 with a major addition of location based service Google Latitude. If you already use location based service like Foursquare you should check this out because it offers some major advantages over its rivals like automatic check-ins/checkouts to the locations you want and notifying you about the place where you’re present. If you check-in at one location many times you will get ‘Regular’, ‘Vip’ and then ‘Guru’ status just like when you become mayor of some place in Foursquare.
However you can only share your current location on Google Buzz not on Twitter or Facebook. According to Google there are currently 10Million active latitude users and it may dominate currently popular check-in services in near future.
