SAP : Common Table Buffering Recommendations.
December 6th, 2010 / 1 Comment » / by sT*rchi1Ð
As per MIT Recommendation:
All Pool Tables should be Buffered.
Heavily updated Transparent tables should not be buffered.
Use TXN SE11 or SE12 > Table > Go To > Technical Settings.
Clustered Tables Cannot be Buffered.
===
Table buffering should be activated for tables that are seldom modified.
Table buffering should be activated for tables that are often accessed.
Table that are accessed based on primary key should be buffered.
Customizing data should be buffered. However, it is important to note that changing the buffer settings for an SAP delivered table requires modification key.
Only in special cases should you activate table buffering for tables larger than 1MB.
Before activating table buffering for new tables, ensure that the table buffer has enough free space to hold the expected amount of data.
Table buffering should not be activated for business data when you need to guarantee that the data being read is not outdated.
Table buffering should not be activated for tables holding transaction data.
===
Use of buffered tables is recommended to improve the performance considerably. The buffer is
bypassed while using the following statements
1. Select distinct
2. Select … for update
3. Order by, group by, having clause
4. Joins
5. Use the Bypass buffer addition to the select clause in order to explicitly bypass the buffer while
selecting the data.

Opera Mobile for Android Released – Review and Performance Benchmark
November 9th, 2010 / 2 Comments » / by Faizan
Today, Opera released their popular mobile browser for Android. If you’ve already used Opera Mini for Android you not notice any changes in interface but under the hood Opera Mobile is full featured web browser. Opera mini first sends request to opera servers which then renders and convert webpage in to OBML (opera binary markup language) that OBML is then returned and rendered on Opera Mini’s screen. Unlike Opera Mini, Opera Mobile renders web page locally which enables it to handle dynamic content using JavaScript/Ajax. If you have slow internet connection you can enable Opera Turbo which returns compressed images to reduce page load times.
