I HATE BANKS
It started the day i filled a form to get a new bank account. Not because i wanted one, but because the company i was working for wanted one for me to pay me. After staring at that impossible piece of paper, i made my first mistake by correcting a couple of spell mistakes that i made. I want to share on how the staff working in Pakistani’ local branches treat their (unwanted) customers. Its nothing against any banker or economist.
Anyways, If its my own account or my parent’s joined account or my dad’s account, Banks always succeed to piss me off every time i visit. They’re never sure i am the right person with rights to deal with the account. After making me wait or stand in a queue for at least 15 minutes, They’ll always ask for my (REAL) ID card, even if i am showing them the photocopies/car registry etc. If its about cashing out a check or depositing money, they won’t let my signatures sync with the ones they have in their systems (which is going to sleep in a while). In 9 hours banking, the system is down more than 5 hours, that’s guaranteed if its UBL, Allied, National or Faisal bank.
Last year one night, me and a couple of friends decided to hangout and i decided to stop by at ATM (my bad). As soon as i entered the password and dialed the amount that i wanted to pull out, the electricity went off and half of my ATM card was stuck in machine with the withdrawal receipt in my hand and cash no where. As it was night time, somehow the branch manager was still there with his family (strange) & a few friends may be impressing them by having tea at office whatsoever. The generator wasn’t working & they wanted us to stay (forcefully & rudely) for 1 Hour, because when electricity will be back, i would be able to get my card & may be cash before someone else took that. I got the card but you don’t want to know how they dealt with me while clearing the issue next morning.
Once i went to Allied Bank to have my mom’s check cashed out, starting from the un-natural staring and trying to make me come back after lunch break with my original ID card to (system not working issue) to signature’s don’t match to your mom should apply for an ATM card (even though we’ve tried that as well, but i don’t want to discuss that). Anyways, i called the manager, he was a guy (my age) around 6 months back he was a cashier in same bank. He treated me with same banker attitude and made me realize how i am not familiar with the processes of banks and how they have to make sure when dealing with (our) money. After sometime he was impressed because i started cursing him (in English). I had the cash in my pocket in less than 2 mins and i never looked back.
With this economic turn down thing that is created by same bankers all over the world, We had to suffer a lot last year when they couldn’t give us our own money (because dollars currency isn’t available).
I have a uncountable number of self-experienced issues which i can quote. But i have a heart for the people who have leased from Banks or the people who owe these banks some money, How banks charge unseen taxes and never tell the true story behind any deal you make with them.
